The Gungahlin Dance Academy is Gungahlin’s premier dance school. GDA offers the highest standard of dance training in a positive and friendly environment.

Founded and owned by dancer/choreographer Jo McKinley, the Gungahlin Dance Academy’s philosophy is to provide a positive and exciting learning environment where dancers can have fun, receive top class technical instruction and experience the incredible art of dance. GDA encourages dancers to take the disciplines of dance into their everyday lives, helping to build self-confidence, good self-esteem and a desire to succeed.

The Gungahlin Dance Academy offers ballet classes and examinations that follow the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum. In addition, GDA offers classes in jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, drama, performance work and private tuition. Students are also given the opportunity to perform in concerts and other community events.

Canberra Festival Ballet School (CFBS) is located near Yerrabi Pond in Gungahlin. They have two studios and classes are run Monday – Saturday. They teach Ceccheti and RAD disciplines as well as jazz. CFBS can offer students jazz, funk and hip hop in a fantastically fun atmosphere.

Students can start to learn dance from age 3 and up. The dance school is led by Director Cheryl Edmondstone Juelg. Their teaching faculty are carefully selected for their excellent performance and teaching skills.

This year Canberra Festival ballet school are performing the Nutcracker for the end of year concert. I am a soldier and the the other dancer that are in stage when I am dancing are the rats the nutcracker the rat king and Clara. That is what Canberra Festival Ballet School are performing for the Gala performance 2010.

Another thing is with the exams they can be hard but they are also very fun I like doing exams now that I have already done a couple of them”.
